Last night at the last performance given hereby Holland &Grormley's circus, something happened not down on the bilis, and which caused much excitement at the time. üne of the "startling features" of the show is the descent of a young lady down a wire stretched from the pole at the apex of the tent at an angle of about 45 deerees to the ground, a ditance of about 75 feet, the descent being made by a pulley running on the wire to which a strap is attached, the end of which the performer holds in hermouth. While attempting this feat last night, the strap gave way, allowing the young lady to fall to the ground, a distance of about thirty feet. She struck heavily on her lelt side, and with such foice that blood ran Irom her mouth and nose. She was at first thought to be seriously iDJured, but was able to leave with the show late last night. No bjnes were broken, but she was badly shaken up.
