SENATB. Washington, July 26.- The Naval Appropriation bül was passed yesterday in the United States Senate. A bilí was favorably reported to appropriate $100,000 for a public building at Muskegon, Mica. All oí the private pension bilis on the calendar, 137 in number, were passed. The ServicePension bill was introduced, which provides that all persons who served three months or more in the military or naval service of the United States be.ween April 13, 1861, and July 1, 1866, shall be entitled to a pension at the rate per month of one cent for each day's service. Washinoton, July 27.- In the Senate yesterday the House Army Appropriation bill giving $15,000,000 for strengtbening defenses was passed. The flsheries treaty was further considered, and a pension veto was received from the President and referred. Washington, July 28.- The flsheries treaty was further discussed in the Senate yesterday, and fifty pages of the SundryCivil Appropriation bill were passed. A bill was introduced providing that the fund held r the redemption of United States notes shall be composed of gold and silver, half and half. Washington, July 80.- The United States Senate on Saturday devoted the entire session to discussing the Sundry Civil Appropriation bill. Washington, July 31. - In the Senate jres terday a bill was iDtroduced to appropriate f75,000 for a public building at Galesburg, HL The Sundry Civil Appropriation bill was further considered. A bill was also Introduced to amend the Contract Labor law. Washington, Aug. 1.- Senator Hoaru resolution appointing a committee to report upon commercial relations betweon the United States and Canada was passed in the Senate yesterday, and the Sundry Civil Appropriation bill was further conBidered. THE HOUSE. Washington, July 2a -In the House yesterday a bilí was reported to prevent the manufacture, sale and transportaron ol adulterated artlcles of food and diink and adulterated drugs. A bilí to establish a TJnited State Land Court in the Terrltories of Arizona and New Mexico and the State of Colorado was passed. Washington, July 27.- In the House yes terday the entire session was occupied in disoussing the Oklahoma bill. Washington, July 28.- In the House yesterday a dozen private-claim bilis were passed, also one for the erection of a marine hospital at Evansville, Ind., to cost $100,000. At the evening session thirty-six private pension büls were passed. Washington, July 30.- ïn the House Saturday a bill was introduced provtding for tolls on Canadian vessels through Bt. Mary's and St. Lawrence canal s in retaliatlon of dlscrimination against American vessels in Canadian canals. The Senatfl bill to reimburse depositors of the Freed men's bank was concurred in. Washington, July 81. - In the House yesterday the Senate bill was passed foi 'the erection of a public building at Sioux City, Ia., at a cost of $150,000. A bill was introduced calling for Information from American consuls relative to emigration to the United States. A conference was ordered on the Senate amendments to the Navy Appropriation bilL The Deficiency Appropriation bill was cnsidered. Washington, Aug. 1.- In the House yesterday Mr. McMillin (Tenn.) was elected Speaker pro tem. during the absence for a few days of Mr. Carlisle. A bill was passed for the revocation of the withdrawal of lands made for the benefit of certain railroads in Iowa and Minnesota. The Army Appropriation bill was discussed. OTHEB NOTES. Washington, July 26.- A tariff conference oí the Republican Senators was hela at Senator Evarts' residence yesterday, at which a decisión was reached that the Finance Committee shall prepare a tarifl bilí as a substituto íor the Mills bilí, and that it shall then be reported to the Senate and taken up and passed, regardless oí the length of time this may require. Washington, July 80.- Mr. Randall and his family left Washington for their country home at Wayne Station, Pa., in the hope that f resh country air will have the effect of increasing the patient's strength. Washington, July 30.- The chief of th Bureau of Statistics at Washington reports on the 28th that the total number oi immigrants which arrived at the ports of the United States from the principal foroign countries during the twelve monthi ended June 80 was 539,818, against 483.11C during the same perlod in 18S7.
