Clay Evans waa nominated íor Congress by the Republicans of the Third district. Winchester, Va, Jujly 28.- The Demócrata of the Beventh Congressional district renominated Colon el O'Ferrall. Atlanta, Ga., July 28.- The Republican committee of the Fifth Congressional district nominated G. S. Thomas for Congress. Gkeexsbubo, Ind., July 27.- Hon. M. D. Tackett, of this city, was nominated by the Republicans for Congress to oppose Hon. William S. Holman. Topeka, Kan., July 27.- The Republicans in State convention in this city yesterday noainated a íull State ticket, with L. V. Humphrey, of Independence, for Governor. The platform indorses the Republican nominees íor President and Vice-rresident; favors home rule íor Ireland; demands the enforcement of the State liquor law, and favors protection to home industries. Madisos, Wis., July29.- Rev. T. H. Dahl, oí Stoughton, Wis., Prohibition candidate for Lieutenant-Governor, aud D. C. Prescott, of Marinette, caudldate for Treasurer, have declined to run, and Chris Carlson. ol Eau Claire, and L. W. Hoyt, of Madison, have been namea respectively for the vacant places on the tu;:et by the State Central Committee. Bbooklyx, July 27.- Mrs. Belva Lockwood, the Presidential candidate of the Equal Rights party, opened the campaign ín this citv last evening. In her speech she ald that it was about time that women were regarded in some other light than as pettéd dolls on the one hand and domestic drudge on the other. Chicago, Aug. 1.- The Republicana of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wiscon9in will co-operate as far as may be in the coming campaign. The officers of the State cominittees of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin met at the Grand Pacific. General Martin, chairman, and Daniel Shepard, secretary of the Illinois State Central Committee, Chairman J. M. Hucton, of Indiana, Secretary, H. C. Tillman, of Michigan, and Chairman Henry C. Payne, of Wisconsin, were there. There was a cencral talk about the condition of thi&gs in these States and an informal assocUtlon without a name was forrned. lts chief purpose 19 to trade speakers, act together in sending out documents, and exehange ideas and advice. Dus Moines, Ia., Aug. 1.- Mrs. J. Ellen Foster, the Iowa temperance agitator and lawyer, has secured an engagement with the Republican Congressional Committee. It is understood that she will speak in Maine, New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan and places where the Prohibitionists are strongest. Her temperance principies ars satistied with the Boutelle resolution, nd, like many other Prohibitionists, she advocates the repeal of the whisky tax, believing it would clear the path lor State action. San FnAXcisco, Aug. 1.- The Repub ticans made the following Congressional renominations yesterday : Third district, Joseph McKenna; Fourth, W. W. Morrow ; Fif th, T. G. Phelps. Fort Wayse, Ind., Aug. 1.- James B. White was renominated for Congress yesterday by the Republicans oí the Twelfth district. Ocala, Fla., Aug. 1.- The Republicana held their State convention in this city yesterday and nominated V. S. Shipman for Sovernor and H. W. Chandlcr (colored) Lor Secretary of State. Pabkersburg, W. Va., Aug. 1- TheProhibitionlsts met in State convention in this city yesterday and nominated a f uil ticket, with Thomas R. Carskadon, of Keyser, for Governor.
