The board of supervisors of Washtenaw county met on Monday and opened its regular session. J. V. N. Qregory was made chairman. It was decided that the' board should visit the county poor hou?e today. On Tuesday, the basis o' equalization was fixed at $25,000,000. Tomorrow at 2 p. m., the board wül listen to the report of the county superintendents of the pior, and on Tuesday next at 2 p. in., the board will elect the next board of superintendents of the poor. Tne present marmer of depositing the county's money was continued, and the clerk will ask tor bids from the geveral banks of Ann Arbor and present them to the board uext Tuesday. Yesterday the board received the following communication from Prosecuting attorney Norria relative to the uukuown heir fund : , Gentlemen : - I desire to cali your attention to what is ki.own as tbe uuknown faeir fund and would respectfully say that somemonths ago Mrs. Theobold, wlio claims to be a subject of Oreat Britain, made her petitlou to the honorable probate court of this county claiming among other things that she was the sole helr at law of Thomas Ilarvey, deceased, and praymg the court to order the money belongingto Mieh fund and coming from sucn Harvey estáte, to be paid to her or to her attorney, Such petition carne on to be heard in said court on the 21st day of September last, I appearing therein for the county, when the court granted tbe prayerof such petitioner and ordered the payment of such money. The money has not as yet been paid for the reason ainong othera that X advised such nonpaymentuntil your honorable board could determine whether or not you desired further to comest the questions involved. I therefore request that your honorable body take action in the premises to the end that your honorable body may be advised on the questions involved and that tne money may be paid if payment is thoughl advtaable.
