Augusta, tía., Oct. 5.- Governor Gordon and the other State offlcers were re-elected Wednesday, there being no opposition to tbom. Tho election was quiet. The amend ment to the constitution increasing the number of Snpreme Court Judges from three to five was adopted. Washington, üct. 5.- P. D. Wiggington, of Caliíoruia, has been unanimously selected by the Executive Committee of the Aroerioan party to flll the vacancy occasioned by Judge Greer's decliuation of the Vice-Presidential nomination. Nkw York, Oct. 5- The County Democracy has definitely decided to renominate Mr. Hewitt for mayor. Nbw York, Oct 6.- At a mass -meeting of citizens irrespective of party, held at Cooper Union Ttrarsday, Mayor Hewitt was unanimously nominatód for another term. New Ori.rans, Oct. 6 -The Prohibition State convention has nominated a full electoral ticket. There were twenty-flve delegates present, and they claim they can poli about 2,000 votes. The speeches made and resolutions adopted pledged Tammany to the support of Cleveland and HUI, and contained denunciations of Know-Nothingism, which were intervreted as an attack upon Mayor Hewitt Bt. Paul, Minn., Oct. 7. - Ignatius Donnelly has withdrawn as candidate of the Mranesota Labor party for Governor and is working to sueed D. M. Sabin as United States Senator. New York, Oct. 8 -The County Domocracy has nominatod Abram S. Hewitt íor mayor. Boston-, Oct. 8.- The action of 20,000 ladies here in registering for tho purpose ui votinp at the schqpl election is being iollowed all over the State. The returns frmn Brookline, Waltham, Woburn and nearly every place heard from show a !;reat increase in the nuraber of women registering and paying taxes in order to vote.
