Must Respect The Ordinances
The city government has entered upon a vigoroua enforcement oL the sidewalk and fire limit ordinances. Following Exmayor Smith's moonlight sidewalk, which ought to be of stone, some people on State-st have been erec'ing bu'ldings of wood within the fire limits. O:) Tuesday, two carpenters, Wm. Curtis and Wm. Wahl, pleaded guilty before Justioe Fiueauff, of building a shed on J. D. BuMwin's land on State-st, and each paid $4.20 oost9. Others in the business portion of State-st are charged with erecting two-story outbuildmgs wholly of wood, and for this ihey may be compelled to py $50 per week as ïoDg as they perrait the buildings to stand. Tne mayor says that the ordinances must be respected.
