San Fkancisco, Feb. 23.- The Japan Gazette received here by the steamship Gaelic from Chinese and Japanese ports publishes the following-: Mr. Swettenham, the Government resident at Selanger, telegraphed to the Governor of the Straits settlements the 13th of January that the steamship Chow-Phya collided with the Pyah Pekhet off Klang straits liffht. The Pyah Pekhet sank in a few minutes with her two European engineers and ten of her native crew and thirty native passengers are reported drowned.
