Pa., in Fayette County, was terrorized Monday night by a party of armed masked robbers, who entered a mimber of house, and after torturing the inmates until they gave up whatevr money they had in their possession, ransacked their houses from cellar to garret. The first house entered was that of a farmer named Anderson. There were five men In the party, and they were heavtly armed. They demanded Anderson's money, and upon that he had none they placed hot coals to hls feet and compelled him to give them ?:S0, all the money he had. They then went tirough the hoxise, but finding nothi g of value rode off. The next place visited was Farmer Lilly's, a short distance from Ander -on's. The old man said he had no money, and the desperadoes tied him m bed and Bet flre to it. Lilly begged f or mercy and finally gave the robbers 180 whlch ne naa secretea. He was tben unbound and the flre extlnguished. Afruitlesssearch of the house for valuables followed, after whieh the robbers left and went to the house of a man named Grove. The latter was put through the same torture, but he had no money, and after thorougily ransacklng the various rooms the party left. The last place visited was the house of an old lady named Keeler, a widow. The robbers bound and gagged her and threatened all manner of torture untü she gave them a pension check, whlch they returned. Finding nothing here they rode off Into the mountains, flourishlng their weapons. The gang Is believed to be the same that robbed Farmer Core, of Frankün townshlp, Fayette County, Saturday night of $300. The resident of Fayette County are greatly excited, and armed searching parties wil] be organized at once to capture the daring robbers.
