Rev. W. S. Studley sat ie his pulpit, Sunday, but was unable to preach. Miss Katie Jacobs attended the Albaui concert in Detroit Monday evening. Peter Woodruff, of EastSaginaw, spent Sunday with his tamily on Forest ave. Mrs. Yorkie, of Saginaw, is visiting her mother, Mra. Spence, on S. Division-st. J. O. Thompson, of Dexter, tormerly of the Alpena Pioneer, was in Ann Arbor on Mo"day. W. L Bush, of Chicagi, was the guest of J. P. Hoffman, of Ann Arbor, a few days age. A. L. Noble went to Detroit yesterday, and will visit his store in Butler, Ind., before returning. President Angelí and Profs. D'Ojge, Hudson and Prescott, attended the funeral oí Regent Field. Mrs. Lewis McLouth, of Brookinps, South Dakot, made her brother, A. M. Doty, of Doty & Feiner, a viait from ?riday until Monday. Miss Loaise Hom, 11 years oíd, a pupil in the Second ward school, won the prize of a gold dollar for penmanship,a priza of'ered by Prof. NichoK The ladies of the Unitarian church will receive the memberg of the Channing guild and of the King's Daughters and their friends Rt the churoh parlors tonight frora 8 to 1030 o'clock. K. H. J. Clark, Henry Kyer, and Will Sutton expect to leave Aun Arbor for Seattle, Washington territory, about April 1, and a party was given them at Mr8. Ed. Eberbach's residente, on P&ckard st., last ThurBday evening. It was given by Mrs. Eberbach, Mrs. Stimson, and Mrs. N. J. Kver. Some of the people in Geddes cams to Ann Arbor Tuesday afternoon, and called at the residence of Charles C. Church, on Jewett-ave., in the Second ward, where John Geddes lives, to give that old gentleman a surprise, that day being Mr. Geddes' 88th birthday. Mr. Geddes lias resided in Washtenaw nearly 65 years. Among the surprise party were I. N. S. Foster and wife, James G. Rash and wife, Herman N. Hicks and wife, and John Boyce and wife.
