Washington, April 27. - Somebody has sterted a discussion as to the present condltaon of the President's health, alleglng that the worry of the past month has been so great that the Chief Executlve suffers at ttmeg from a mild form of insomnia. Seoretary Halford sald Frlday that there was no truth whatever In the rumor. He had known the President for twenty years, and Mr. Harrisou's health waB never better than it Is now. Washington, April 27.- Officials of the State and Navy Departments are considering what can be done In the matter of suitably rewarding the Samoan King, Mataafa, for hls tlmely ottorts to rescue the American sailors and property wrecked at Samoa. Admlral Kimberly's report contained a stron? recommendation upon this poiut which oan not be nog-lected. It is probable that CongreBsional warrant must be had for the bestowing of any sultable reward, but the Navy Department may be able meanwhlle to give the King a token of its appreclaüon In the shape of boots or some of the property now stowed at Apia. Washington, April 27.- President HarriBon has caused it to be understood that no action wlll be taken for several months wlth regard to appointing a successor to ñll the Tacancy on the Supreme Bench caused by the death of Justice Matthews. Baldvrto. Register oí the Land Office at Folsom, N. M. ; James B. McGonigle, Eecelver of Public Moneys at Oberlin, Kan. ; Benjamin P. Shuler, of Minnesota, Indian Agent at the White Earth Agency in Minnesota; B. J. Horton, of Lawrence, Kan., H. J. Aten, of Hiawatha, Kan., and L. D. Walker, of Holton, Kan., Comniissioners to negotiate with the prairie band of Pottatvattomie and Kickupoo Indiaas in Kansas, for the sale of all or a portion of their lands in Kansas and the allotmentof theretnainderin severalty, under the provisions of the act of Congxess approved March 2, 18Ü9; John H. Baker, of Ooghen, Ind., a Cominlssioner to negotiate with the Cherokee and ether Indiana for the cession to the United States of certain lands, as provided in thi aot approved March2, 1889.
