At last fine rains have come to us. Mr. Cook, of Ann Arbor, builds the piers for our new bridge and has one of them completed. Milán has its initial circus on June 4, when Orton's great wild west strikes us. We wonder if the Milan boy with this show influenced this visit. TpallaatL Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Neat have been seeking a little recreation at Orchard Lak e. Mill-st, on east side, is to be christened with the more appropriate name of Maple-st, soon. The G. A. R. and Light Guards attended service at the Baptist church last Sunday morning. Eev. G. H. Wallace, of Plymouth, very ably flüed the Presbyterian pulpit here last Sunday. The Sons of the Union numbers 30 members already and will probably be increased before Decoration day. Principal Sill entertained the Normal seniors Tuesday evening, and extended a like courtesy to the juniors last evening. Prof. and Mrs. Bellows entertain a company this evening, in honor of their son Waïter and Miss Benfey, of New York. The M. E. churcli young people gave their ninth annual May festival last evening, with the usual large attendance. There'll be no excuse for 909 fond parents allowjug their children to make five calis daily at the postoffice, after July 1, because Uncle Sam's going to head 'em off with mail carriers. Owing to overwork, our popular townsman, Mr. John Taylor, of Robbins & Taylor, hardware nierchants, was stricken with nervous prostration last week and has been obliged to seek rest and relief at his old home in St Catherines, Ontario.
