Jacksonville, Ore., July 13.- Three persons were burned to death in the jail fiere Friday morning about 5 o'clock. The fire origlnated in the front room where the deputy sheriff slept, whioh made it impossible to reach the prisoners until the ftre was put out The deputy sheriff had been called away during the night, and to his absence is due the death of the prisoners. The origin of the lire is uuknown, but it is supposed that it was caused by the careless handilug of matches. The vietims were: Newton Cook, aged 5B, a Dativo of Tennessee; Henry Hoover, aged 55, a native of Michigan and an ex-soldier, and Frank Warner, aged 19, a native of Germany.
