Senator HoUirook's Anti-Trust bill, which passed the Loyïslature, is sweeping iu it nature, and was drawn maiuly by exChief-Justice Christiancy, of the Michigan Supreme Coarc It provides thut: AU contructs, agreemonts, unüerstanrtingi and conibitiations made, entered into, or knowmgly assented by and betweea any parties capahle of makini; a contract or agreemtint which would be valid at law or in equity tlie purpose or object or intent of which shal! be to limit, control, or in aiiy raanner to rostrict or regúlate the amount of product or quantity of any article or commodity to be raised or pro.iuced by míning, manufacture, agriculture, or any other branch of business or labor, or to enhanca, control or regúlate the price thereof, or In any manner prevent or restnct free competition in the production or sale of any such article or commodity, shall be utterly illegal and vod, and every such contract, agreement, understanding and combination shall constitute a criminal conspiracy, and every person who for himself personally, or as a memoer or in the name of a partnership, or as amember, agent or offlcer of a Corporation, or of any association for business purposes of any kind, who Bhall enter into or knowngly consent to any such vold and illegal contract, agreement, understanding or combination, shall be deemed a party to such conspiracy. The labor organizations protested against the bill on the ground that it was aimed al them, and to cover thia objection an amendmeut waa adopted providing that the bill shaü not apply to societies iormed for the protection of labor nor to agricultnral products whilo in the hands of producers.
