A concert will be given at tbe Hobart Hall, Friday evening, Oct. 4th. The par'icipanta will be Mf. W. J. Lavin, tenor, Mr. J. F. Campbell, baritone, and Mr. J. V. Seyler, pianist of Detroit. Mr. Lavin has already gained a wide reputation by hia connection with the Juch Concert Co. last year, of which organization he was tenor. Tnisvear he travels with the Levy Concert Co. ' Mr. Campbell at his debut in Bologna, Italy, made a great hit and although he has only been in America three months since his European triumphs, he has already created the most favorable impressions where he has been heard. Mr. Seyler has very recently returned from a two years course of study under the best masters that Germany could afford, and returns to thia country a finished artist. Those who have heard bim play say that he haa attained a wonderful mastery over his instrument. Lovers of good music well interpreted, will undoubtedly enjoy this treat. Remarkable Snccess. Dr. Fruth of New York, the celebrated specialist, will make a return visit to Ann Arbor, Tuesday, Chtober 1, 1889. The doctor has established aa excellent reputation ia this community and his pracüce haa steadily increased until it is now undoubtedly the largest in the state. This rapidly increasiug practice fairly indicates that remarkable success wiih which he has met in the treatment of difficult cases. He has hundreds of patients in (his vicinity who will bear testimony to Dr. Fruth's 6kill if called upon, but out of considera tion fer those who naturally shrink irom having themselves paraded bef'ore the public, he refrains frotn publishing their names to advertise himselt and they thank him for his kind consideration. The afficted will, we believe, ñnd it a source of satisfaction whether they take treatment or not, to cali and consult him if they desire to obtain the latest and best treatment for such disease8 as the family physician is not prepared to treat.
