The past year has been an auspicious one in the history of the Washtenaw Mutual Fire Insurance Company. The compacy has been orgaoized under a new charter which will now run for 30 years. This reorgauization has been the result of considerable hard work by the offlcers, it beiog necessary to change the policies and open r.ew accounts with nearly 2,500 members. This work has been completed and the company starts on the new year with everything ingood shape. From the annual report ot the board of directors the following interesting facts are taken: MEMBERSHIPS. The running expenses of the company are light, the officer'8 salaries, etc., amounting to but $1,096 50 for the year, the expenses for office ren', stationery, etc, being but $190.86. In number of members and amount of risks carried the Washtenaw Mutual ranka among the be6t mutual companies in the state, and the cost to the members for carrying insurance is btlow the average. It is estimated that 260,000 persons in the United States are eogaged in busiüees depending solely on electricity.
