The third annual convention of the Washtenaw County Suaday School Association was held in the Baptist church d this city, Tueaday, and was the most successful gathering that the Sunday school workers have y et held. Delegates, nearly eighty in number, were present from the different parts of the county, there being but few Sunday schools tha, were unrepresented. The report made and the papers read were of great ie tereet and showed an advancement in this line of work in which all der.omintions are equslly interested and repreiented. The convention was called to order by the president, Rev. Thomas Holmes, ot Chelaea. After devotional exercigeg, verbal reports were made by the delegates, followed by a general discusgion of thé eituation. Ioteresting papers were reíd upon the following topics, the aathors without exception offerirg many advanced ideas : "Chris'ian Oourtev in Sundav School Work," by C. W. Fellows. of Ypsilami; "The Mutual Relations of Teacher and Paren;," by Miss C. A. Sager, of this city; "Normal Methnd, or How to Teach a Sunday S.-hool Class," by Mrs. A. B. Stevens, of this city; "The Sunday School as a Missionary Enterprise," by Rev. n B. Thompson, district president, of Detroit ; "The Boys," by D. B. Green, of Ypsihnti; Aggressive Sunday School Work," by Rev. H. S. Jordán, of Lansing; "Our Duty to the Une?angelized," by H. M. Morey, of Ypsilanti ; "The Toung Men'g Bible Class, by Prof. B F. Builey, of Ypsilanti; "Our Field and How to Culiivate It," by E. A. Hough, i'hairman of the State Executive Committee. The papers were followed by discussiona apon their meriu by the delegales present At the close of the literary program the election of officerg for the ensuing year was held, resulting as follows, Augustus Tucker, of Ann Arbor, president ; Mr. Campboll, of Ypsilanti, vice-president; Mrs. W. S Perry, of Ann Arbor, treasurer. The choice of a seoretary was left by the coDvention to the president.
