The PosUge Stamp Comedy Company appeared at the opera h une last erening in tbeir new farce comedy, " A Social SesioD," and both the pUy and the playera made an intanaueous bit Very few of the large audience present guesged that it was a " first night," as the piece had been very carefully rehearsed and not a " break " occurred to mar the smoothness of an excellent performance. CJnlike most of the to-cdlled comedie, "A Social Session " has a well defined, though not complicated, plot, the dramatic interest being s-ustsined throughout. The oharacters are all well drawn, and the situationa novel, as was aUested by the almost conti nuous fthouts of laughteraod appUuse that greeted the playera and iirpired them to further efiforts. The Dumerous tong and specialties introduued were of a high order of merit The burlefque opera in the third act wag exceedingly ludicrous, and also aSbrded the'excelletu vocalista of the company an opportunity to display th?ir ability. We hdye not pace to give synopsis of the pi ce, nor is it necessary. It can all be summed up in one word - fün!- Buffa! j Expres. A better gatisaeü audience than filled the opera house lo see ''A Social Session" last night, seld m returns from an evening's entertainment. This attrsciion is well calculated to put an (iiiJience in a proper frame of mind to enj y their performance. The mperb band and orchestra creates an exq .Hite sensation of delight, nd after the sweetstrains die away the curtain rises on farce comedy, hreezy and ludicrous and the most siaid auditor soon ljses control of nis deportment and is preparad to ei j y the fun to the fullest extent. The merit ot the play increases wilh each act; the third and last is com posed of burle ques on popular grand operas put on in good style. "A S cial Bession" is better than it advertisej. -
