Otumwa, la., Oct 10. - President Harrison was yesterday the guest of this city, vlsiting the coal palace and reviewing :i big parade. Governor Hoies in a brief gpeoch of welcome introduced the President from the reviewing stand, and President Harrison in rcply congratulated the p ople of lowa on the phenotnen.il pragress which they had made as a Stata uithin the last decades, and was gratifled by tlio evidences of prospcrity whicli he observad on every hand. The party left for Topeka. Kan., in the evonin. Topkka, Kan., Oct 11.- On his way to this city President Harrison metwith cordial receptions at Kt. Joseph, Mo., and at Atchison. The party arrived here at ld: I yi'sterday morning and witnessed a oarade of :0,000 veterans and ü,oü( school ohlldren. At 4 p. m. the Preident left for Kansas City, and after a short stop left for Si. Louis. Indiana i-oi-is, Ind., Oct. 13.- President Iiarrison and party were entertained at St. Oouis on Saturday, and yesterday the President passed the day at his home in this city in a quiet manner. He attendeJ church in the momin ff. Pittsihiroh, Pa., Oct 14.- Apropos of the President's trip, Congresmsan Tom Iíayne has somo interesting fifures. He says General Harrison has been gone but eight days and in that time has traveled a distance of a little over 3,000 miles. During, these eight days he has made forty speeches, just one-half as many as he made during his entire Presidential cimpaign. Nine speeches out of ten touched upon the war and but one encroached on politics. The l'resident left Indianapolis at 8 a. m. y ;tcrdiiy. and stops ve:e made at Pendleton, Anderson, Munete, Winchester and Union Cit , in Indiana, and at DeOraff. Jíellefontaine, La Rué, Augusta, JSIurion, Crestline, Massilon, Cantón, Allance and Salem, in Ohio. At eath pla e large erowds groeted the President heartily, an l he made brief speeches. The train arrived in Pittsburgh on time, and after a short stop left at 7:30 for Washington.
