High School Notes
Miss Canfleld, who has been assistant instructor in the commercial department, has been a..pointed as ïr.structor in penmanship, in the city schools. S. D. Demmon '92, of Mt. Carrol!, 111., was called home recenüy on account oi his father's sickness. Mr.Demaaon nas already proved himselí an active and efficiënt member of the !. C. A. and the Ar na deeatiug lyceum, beside being a fiuthfal ttudent. ■ It is doubtful whethtr lie will return. Eev. J. W. Bradshaw will leid the S. C A. meeting on Friday aftenuon. His subject is, "Religión, a Sentiment, a Theory, a Principie." There is a strong demaud on the part of the high school lyceum, tha: they be permitted to hold their meetings on Saturday night, instead of t'ridiy night, the latter being nearly always iven up to church and class social, iecures and public entertainment?, which causes slim attendance and poor work in the lyceums.
