It contains a complete series of maps of modern geography, also an elabórate series of authentic historical maps showing the world'a progress and development from the earliest times to the present. The book is handsomely illustrated, the maps being executed with particular excellence. Maps of every state in the Union and every large city in the world are included. A complete treatise on astronomy is presented. A valuable feature of the work is a sketch of the political parties in the United States as they have existed from the foundation of the government to the present time. In the back of the book are statistical tables and diagrama, which cannot l'ail to be of great service to everyone.
