Iquigri:. Chili, April 27. - The warship Blanco Encalada, which was one of the vcssels taken possession of by the rebels at the breaking out of f,b.e insurrectioo, was sunk April 23 in Caldera bay by a torpedo fired by the new gunboat Almirante Lynch. The destrnction of the ironclad was attendéd by great loss of life, 20Ó persons, comprising half of her crew, being killed by the explosión of the torpedo. The congress party are now in possession of Caldera and Carrizal.
