At Newton, 111., '20 miles nortli of here, the roof was blown off the public school and the courthouse and opera house dainaged. Trees and outbuildings were Bcattered in everydipection. No lives were lost. At St. Marie, 111.. 18 milos north of here, trees and ontbuUdinga werc Boattered in every direetkm. Hartrieh & Jaokson's larg barn was blown down, their horses were in a atable, trot escaped nnhurt. Dr. James Ploquet's Urge barn was blown down and lire horsea killed. Meager reporta trom the vicinity of Albion, 111.. 30 miles souU., are that great dama wat done. A man by the name ui Bear as killed. Later reports are expocted. Suoalb, IikL. June 8 - A storm passed over Uurns City in this eounty Thursdity nijht. destroying a large amount of property. Absolem Sharplesa was killed and Miss Dora Fortner severely injured. Much stock was killed.
