Stephen Jacobs was instantly killed, early yesterday afternoon, by a north bound train on the Toledo road. He was walking from his hom'e toward Main-st, when the cars approached. Whistles were blown, but without attracting Mr. Jacobs' attention. He was thrown down and the wheels passed over hie right leg, severing it above the ankle. His arm was also broken and his face slightly bruised. The remains were at once taken to Martin's undertaking rooms, and Coroner Clark empanelled a jury. The inquest will be held at two o'clock today. Mr. Jacobs has been a familiar figure on Ann Arbor streste. He has been very popular not only with the colored people but with the white people. He was over eighty years old. He served during a portion of the war and was a prominent member of the Welch Post G. A. R. _
