Washington, Oct -J4. - The report of the sixth auditor oí the treasury íor the post office depirtruent shows that the postal revenues oí the year ended June 30, 1891, were $65,931,785, as gainst StíO,88í,O97 in 1890, and the expenditures to September 30, 1891, which accrued prior to June 30, were $71,662,408, leavíng an excess oí expenditures over all revenues of 55,730,678, as ag-aiust $5,048,019 for the year 1890. Of the total receipts 62,569,775 were írom the sale oí postigo stamps and Sí, 300,768 írom box rento. Oí the total expenditures $14,585,947 was paid as compensation to postmasters, $7,387,087 as clerk hire, $S,088,980 as compensation of letter carriers, Sil, 975, 154 as inland railroad mail transportatioD, $5,412,771 as star service, $s,914,14C as compensation oí railway mail clerks, and $3,452,033 as tracsportation by portal ears.
