Washington, Deo. 7.- Iu Uis annual report to tlie president Seeretary Tracy, of the navy, says tliat during the past year four nevv vessels have been placed in commission, makinff a total of thirteen since March 4, 1B89, as follows: The Ch cago, Yorktown, Petrel, Charleston, Baltimore, Cushinjr, Vesuvius, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Newark, Concord, Bennington and Miantonomah. Twenty-two vessels are under construction. The naval militia is discussed and the distritmtion of the íunds provided is noted. The number oí men mustered is 1,149 in six States. 01 the cost of the navy the amount charjíed to completed ships, fifteen in number, is 815,730,354.57. Of the twentyfour uncompleted vessels the expendíture has been 811,488,794.28. and tho total cost when completed will ba $53,920.282-03. The report recommend the consolidation of revenue marino and navy.
