The Detroit Journal says: A larga audience attended the revival of "The French Spy," at Whitney's Opera House last night. Tbe production is on an elabórate scale, thecostumes and scène effects being excellent. The action of the play takes place ín Algiers and in the first act there is a realistic battle scène in which the imperial forcesof France and the fierce native troops oontend for victory. The role of thr Frpnoh ppy is played very eifectively bv Miss Nellie Davenport, whose beauty and fierce stage Dresence is supplemented by an excellent display of talent. An entertaining featurp of the peri forinance is a series of illustrated lectures by Prof. VV. J. Kerstetter. Last evcning many beautiful woiks of art vrere showu.
