"hoosier Poetess" Dead
[jídianapolis, Ind., Aug. 5. - Sarah T. Boltou, one of the oldest and most famous women in Indiana, died at her residence in this city Friday night. Mrs. Bolton was known as the "Hoosier Poetess," and has written poems that are known world-vvide, among them beingf "Paddle Your Own Canoe" and "Indiana," a glowing tribute to that cominonwealth. She was the wife of Nathaniel Bolton, deceased, the founder oí the Indianapolis Sentinel, the oldest daily paper in Indiana, at one time consul to Geneva, Switzerland. Mrs. Bolton was bom in Kentucky in 1814, but carne to Indiana when a little girl, and all her liie with the exception of when she was abroad has been spent in Indianapolis and vicinity.
