WashinivíuN, March M.- The coinmissioner of patents in his animal report for the calendar year 1893 says the total number of applications for patents received during the year was 87,293. There were 23,670 patents (franted, includinff desifjns; 99 patents reissued, and 1,677 trademarks reffistered. The nuurber of patents Tvhich expired was 14,173.
