Jackson, Mich., April 24.- J. R. Golden, of Ann Arbor, is in Jackson county jail, charged with burglary and laroeny. Five days ago Golden, who is a young máncame hare claiming hs representing the Ann Arbor Stamp Co. He got in with an engraving company here and was tomake them ugents forthe stavnps. Golden was let into the office and was there Saturday night. Yesterday morning the safe was fcund open and about $12 in silver was gone, The key to the safe was in a wooden desk in the office, but it was found tha the lock of the desk had been bored round with a bit until it feil off, th desk opened and the safe key taken to unlock it. Chief Boyle was notified, and befor 9 a. M. Golden was arrested. It wa further found where Golden ha changed $5 in sil ver for a bilí of lik denomination at a Francis-st. saloon The prisoner was sent to jail on his dt. mand for an examination. He offeret to plead guilty to simple larceny, bu denied the theft. It is said his relation at Ann Arbor are entirely respectable and no doubt efforts will bemade to pul the younfi fellow out of the scrape. H shed tears at the jail, and wanted hi father sent for.
