Michigan Academy Of Sciences

The first annual meeting of the Miehgan Academy of Sciences was called to rder in the Pioneer hall at the capitol ast Thursday afternoon by President W. J. Beal, of the Agricultural College. A large number of enthusiasts in the cientific field vrere present, and from 'esterday's proceedings it would seem hat the academy will be a success. The association was organized last Juno at Ann Arbor for the promotion of fellowship among the scientific men and for science research in the state. fhe branches to which the association will direct greatest attontion will be thatof natural history. The total membership of the society at present approximates 100. - Ex.
