Mr. C. Cross, of Dot roit, is visiting his cousin, E. M. Cross. The I. O. G. T. are going to paper their now hall thisweek. Rev. Gibson organized an Epworth League on Tuesday night. Milton Todd has returned from hia visit with Dimondale friends. Mrs. .T. E. Mason, of Detroit, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. H. Stevens. The Misses Gertrudeand Alys Smith, of Jackson, are visiting friends here. Mr. John Todd, wife and daughter, of Lima,are visiting friends in Farwell. The L. J. Seek Ice Co., vvill begin shipping ice from the lake, Monday. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Freemanare visiting his sister, Mrs. Jos. Fray and famUy. Mr, and Mrs. Bush, of Dixboro, are the guests of Mr. James Hanby and family. Mr. T. M. Lumbard and family spent Xmas at the home of their daughter Francés, in Milford. Mr Ed. Taylor, who has been attending school in Toronto, Canada, is visiting his brother Frank. Mrs. C. E. Payne, of Port Clinton, O., spent Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Snell. The I. O. G. T. social at the house of Phillip Smith was well attended and all seemed to enjoy themselves. A load from Ann Arbor were present. The Good Templars play last Saturday was a grand success. About $28 was realized. They aro now preparing to play "Dot The Miner's Daughter." An elabórate program consisting of dialogues, recitations, songs, etc, is being prepared by "Co. A. " Come one and all and bring your friends, and we will guarantee you a good time. Supper, 25c a couple. The Good Templars had a contest in their lodge some time ago, the winning side to eat an oyster supper at the expense of the loosers, consequently "Co. A."willgive an oyster supper at the residence of Joseph Pray on Tuesday eveiing, Jan. 8th, 95. MILÁN. Miss L. Curtís is quite ill. Milan is f uil of holiday guests. Beautiful skating on the Salire. Mrs. Vincent is entertaining guests. J. C. Rouse is a Detroit visitor today, Atty. G. R. Williams, is on the sick list. Miss Grace Luxton is ill with throat trouble. The merchants here report a fine trade during Xmas week. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Putman are visiting friends in Union City. The F. M society are holding revival meetings at the Union church. Prof. W. Babcock. and wife, of Lansing are visiting Milan relatives. Mr. C. Johnson, of the U. of M. is the guest of Miss D. Curtía this week. Mrs. J. Schmitt and children have returned from their Detroit sojourn. Mr. Chas. King, of Cleveland, is the guest of his sister, Mrs. Nellie Whaley. Mr. and Mrs. Mell Barnes, and son, have returned from their Quincy visit. The M. K. society hekl an old fashioned Watch meeting to sec 95 maroh into file. Mrs. H. C. Markham, of Ann Arbor, was the guest of her sister, Mrs. G. 11. Williams, Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sill, entertained jruests from Lansinr, Dexter, Saline and Milan, New Years. Miss Mary Murry has returned from Knjrland and says it is a picasure to be at home again among her friends. Mr. and Mrs. Pratt who have been the guests of their cousin, Mrs. Minter, returned to their home ir. Vernon, Mich., the last of the week. HBSIEIt. Webster is about to organi.e a lyceum. Webster young folks held a watch meeting last Monday evening at Mr. Latson's. The new year seemed nuthing different, cxcept it may have been ushered in with tuinultous vociferations. Mrs. Nelt Marsh is in Ann Arbor with her sister, Mrs. Roost for a faw days. Miss Johanna Reith and sister Mary are spending a few days at home with their parents. The school Christmas tree and exercises were very nice, the children did their part well. Mr. Eiselman and sister from Freedom were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Strehle last week. Mr. Estabrook went to Onondago, Mich., to visit his father and other f riends Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Kin quist returned from North Lake last Saturday. They had been called there by the death of an uncle. Everything in Delhi is decidedly dull. The niill is standing still, the coopers are laid off. There is nothing to break the monotony of things but the hammering of the bridge gang on the bridge. EXERÏ. The norse that was rafrled by Thomas Burd was won by Charles Kittle and Pred Fames. The Christmas tree was well attended. Music was furnished by the Northfield Orchestra. The Sunday School at this place presented its superintendent, Rev. O. C. Bartlett with a fine rocking chair Christmas. It was stated in last week's issue that the K. O. T. M. Dance would be on New Years evening and the bill OUc. It should have read New Years eve and bill 75c. LIRA. Mrs. E. Keves is visiting in Clinton Co. Miss Joe Hoppig's school gave an oxhibition last Friday, which done both scholars and teachers credit. Simon Winslow was called to Williamston last week by the death of his brother, Nathan, who died Dec. 20th. Mr. and Mrs. Fairchilds, of Swartz Creek, and Mr. and Mrs. Jas. VanVleet, of Flint spend Christmas with Mrs. Lewls Freer.
