Filmore Case Reversed

The case of Mrs. Catherine M. Filmore against the Maccabees for the amount of an insurance poliey held by her late husband in that order has just been decided upon in the Supreme Court. In the circuit court Mrs. Filmore won her case upon the ground that the Maccabees could not make an order or rule which could not be examined into by the courts. The Supreme Court practical ly held that the order of the society had not been obeyed and that the courts could not interfere in such cases. This is a vietory for the Maccabees, and ii in the form of a Supreme Court decisión, which undoubtedly, will be of great value to them in fuiro cases wbere points similar to those in this case may arise.
