Fire was discovered at an cari.v morning hour in the i-heehan house, Bradíord, l'a. , and before tlie occupants were awakened the yhole building was in flatnes, and none s more than their night ciothes. Two women in jumping froia upper vi;idows were seriously init:red. The fire spread on both sides and threatened the entire town. A furious blizzard was raging at the time the fire was tirst discovOred, and the mercury stood at 8 degrees below zero. The firemen imraediately responded to the general alarm and fought bravely for several hours. Mrs. J. F. Mc'Juiston, rushed from her rooms in one of the burning blocks with her clothinf and hair ablaze. The tiremen saved her from cremation. Her hüsband was badly burned and before the fire was extinguished had bis hands and ears frozen. At least 100 of the firemen had their ears. face or hands frost-bitten more or less severely.
