Two explosions occurretl at the Hiverside furnaee at Steubenville, O., injuring a larg-e number of workmen, several of them fatally. The explosions vrere cansed by stock in the furnaee settling, and the acoumulated gas between what had settled and what was hanging above blowing1 out tons of stock and brick. A score of men were burned or injured by fiying missles, at least twe fatally. Ilundreds of carloads of provisions are awaiting distribtition in Nebi-aska, while the destitute are starving and freezing. "Green goods" dealers are flooding Illinois and Indiana with cii-culars telling how to secure $40,0000 for 5,000. Mrs. Dold of Sellersburg, Ind., fchought she heard burglars ia the house, and was so frightcned shs died threehours later. The Phoenix glassfactory at Monaca, L'a., was burned to the grouud. The ! loss is estimated at 8175,000.
