News has been reeeived that Henry Philüpa, jr., of Philadelphia, has bequeathed to the University real estáte in that city, tho income from which shall be-used to provide for six classical scholarships at the U. of M. The report comea through the TimesHerald of Chicago and is not definite as to wbethor Mr. Phillips is dead, or whon the proceeds from the property will be available. Mr. Phillipa was not an alumnus of the University. He stipulates that the scholarships shall b_ glven to students vvho spend at least one-fourth of their time in the study of Greek and Latin.
