A íreight train on the Florence & Cripple Creek railroad was caupht in a landslide and deraiLed near Adelaide, Coló. A succession of cloudburste occurred at the head of Eight Mile Creek, north of Adelaide. Kngineer Gove and Fireman Lyons saw the water coming1 down the creek in a wall ten feet high. Lyons climbed up the side of the mountain, but Gove was drowned. Brakenian Dolan lost his life also. At Adelaide the hotel was swept away, and Mrs. Carr, I-.ee Tracey and A. AVatson were drowned. Six others were drowned and two are missing. The railroad for 10 miles has been washed away, The damage is estimated at 100,000. More destruction is reported at Camp McCourt. A disastrous eloudburst occurred at the head of Garden Creek, near Casper, Wyo. The water came down the valley in a solid wall ten feet high. lluge boulders and logs were torn from their fastenings and carried along with the torrent, dealing de;ith and destruction. A freighter and familynamed Xewby were camped on the creek. Mrs. Newby and hor child were drowned. Sam l'arsons camp, was also caught, and his two children were carried away in the torrent. At Socorro, X. M., a flood came down upon the town suddenly and many lives were lost. The namos of the recovered dead are: Lea nare, Celia, ThomaB and J. B. Durane and two otbera of the same famüy and an infant child of H. Baca. Many othet people are missing. Many homes were destroyed and poor people lost all they bad in the world. A'o estímate of the loss can be made, but it is more than $1,000,000. Hundreds of farmers have lost their houses, crops, fences and stock, and in many cases the farms have been rendered unfit for cultivation.
