The accidental floodingof the Amercus and Sleepy Hollow mines at , fcral City, Colo., caused the death of 13 rniners. The water in the lower workings of Fisk mine, east of the main éhaft, broke through the old workings ' of the vein that has not been worked j for a number of years. It struck the Avnericus where two Italian miners ' were at work in the lower part of the shaft and they were both drowned. Ia its conree the water diverted to the Sleepy Jlollow mine, the easterly portion of the Fihk vein. Fourteen men were worklnff in the Sleepy Hollow, three of whom escaped. A courier was sent to the adjacent mines and all their workmen escaped.
