Indianapolis, Ind., Oct. 22.- The jury in the case of Schuyler Haughey, charged with aiding his father, president of the Indianapolis bank, in wreeking that institution, was declared a free man by the jury in the United States district court yesterday morning, and a most atfecting scène followed. Young Haughey's wife and mother hugged the attorneys for the defensa in their joy. This doses the prosecu;ions connected with the great failure n July of 1893, when over $700,000 was wiped out. The government proved that about $450,000 of this shortage had ?one into the hands of the Indianapolis Cabinet Works, presided over by Franüls A. Coffin. and the other $250,000 had been dumped into the Indianapolis glue works and curled hair works, of which Schuyler Haughey was the nominal head. As the result of the prosecutions, Theodore P. Haughey, president of the defunct bank, is serving a six years' term in prison, and F. A. Coffin is serving one of ten year3.
