The other day, when Paderewski wai dining at a hotel, a fine nickel plated banjo was sent in by a banjo jlayer, with the request that the great piano player should write a short musical sentiment on the sheepskin head. Paderewski complied with the request, and this is the sentiment to which he attached his slgnature: "I hae not the pleasure of being a performer on thU beautiful instrument; am only a piano player." Now the banjo player is asking his friends il the virtuoso was "jollying" him.
