San Francisco, Cal., Oct. 24.- Bec Jones of London, Joseph Clay of Gloucester, and William Stoker of Newcastle have arrived from the antipodes on the steamer Monowai. They are representatives of the Manchester Cooperative aociety, an institution whicb Is doing business with a capital of L7,000,000 and which has big stores and agencies scattered throughout the United Kingdom. The society is organized for the purpose of affording the poor and middle classes an opportunity of purchasing supplies and the necessaries of life direct from the producers, growers and manufacturers. The representatives now here say they have been in New Zealand and Australia to see if tt would be practicable and feasible to organize branch agencies in those coloniee. They say it is highiy probable the society will engage in the business of handling refrigerator meats from the Australian colonies.
