Omaha, Neb., Oct. 22.- The freightcar famine is assuming alarming proportions in the west. The Missoiírl Pacific is short over 600 cars north ot Kansas City, and the Union Pacific, Burlington, Omaha, Elkhorn, and Rock Ieland are far behlnd in the number oí required cars in Nebraska, while the famine in Iowa and Kansas is even worse. The roads have needof cars for extra freight. for all the wheat in the country is belng rushed to maikot during the present high price.
