At least part of Washtenaw's election is not settled yet. Wm. Dansingburg does not think that any fraud was perpetrated to compass lus defeat in the race for County Clerk, but he is ürmly convinced that there were numerous clerical errors which oceurred in the hasty count incident to the excitement at the close of a red hot campaign. He is of the opinión that there are a aufflcient number of such errors, if they can only all be found out, to wipe out tne small majority of 24 which the flrat canvass howed against him. As a result he has petitioned for a recount of the entire vote, and has put up the onc hundred dollars required to cover the expense of the same. As the law makea this returnable to Mr. Dansingburg ia case errors are found, he will, of courae, recover the entire amount, as it is almost certain that .at least some errors will be discovered.in almost every precinet. It is questioned whether this will affect the result, as it is quite possible that clerical errors will about offset, each other. At least such is likely to bo the case where there is no fraud. Mr. Schuh seems to be resting quite easy, as he is confident that the canvass will not leave him in the minority. Mr. Hiram Lighthall will also ask that the votes in a few precincts be reicounted. Although little is said, Mr. Lighthall has become imbued with the idea that he was counted out and that there is still some show of his becoming sheriff after all. . It is not likely, however, that there will be much, if any change in the vote for Sheriff since the great light against J udson had made everybody especially interested in the outcome of the vote for Sheriff and had caused every inspector to be especially on the alert in counting votes for this office. As a result it is not at all likely that enough changos will be mude to overcoma Mr, Judson's majority of 76 votes. Howevar, Mr. Lighthail will petition for a recount of the seuond and third wards in this city, the first and third wards in Ypsilanti and the towns of Salem and Northfield. The Board of Canvassers consists of J. W. Babbitt. Arthur Brown and H. G. Prettyman. This board met and organized Tuesday and began upon a task that will take soveral weeks and which will excite not a little interest among the friends of the interested candidates and county politicians.
