Indoor tennis is now boing playcd i the Gymnasium. The freshmon will have a glee ant banjo club this year. G. W. Smith, '97, of Denver, Colo rado, died last week of consumption. After much disoussion the name "High School Breezes" has been chosen for the new High School publication Manager Hughes of the foot ball team was in Chicago Monday making some arrangements for the Thanksgiving game. Mr, G. P. McUallum, '98 Law who "stumped" the Upper Penninsular for McKinley during the campaign is back in college. W. J. Lachner, '96 law, writes to subscribe for the "Studente Register" and says he has a lucrative practico in Baker City, Oregon. Thomas Chadbourne, of Houghton, Mieh. formerly a student in the U. of M. was married last week to Miss Emily Rt Crane, of Chicago. W. M. Chandler, who made quite a reputation as a sound money orator in the recent campaign has resumed his studies in the Law Dep't. A High School mandolín club will be organized in the near future. The leaders in this enterprise are F. A. Corbusier and Dan Zimmerman. W. E. Hcdgeman, '95 law, whose name is so well known in connection with Michigan track athletics, was in the city Saturday and Sunday. Vespers will begin next Tuesday. Although the chorus at lirst was in sore need of soprano s it has now grown so that fine work may be expected. fS. P. Sadler, 96 lit, who has been doing political work in Illinois during the campaign, has now returned to the U. of M. to enter the law department. In last Saturday's games Princeton beat Harvard, 12 to 0, Yale defeated Brown 10 to 0, and Pennsylvania beat the Carlisle Indian School 21 to 0. Dr. Hinsdale, dean of the homeoathic department, gave an interestingecture before the Unity Club, Monday night, on "SomePrimitive Inventions." Mr. Geo. R. Ray, 92 lit and Miss Cascen R. Montague, 95 lit were married Oct. 21, at Traverse City, Mich. Thsy sailed Nov. 8th for Honolulú where Mr, ' Ray has a position as teacher. On the evening of Nov. 20 in the Woman's Gymnasium, will occur the reception givenby the Woman's League to Dr. Mosher, lt will be a full dress affair. All of the faculty wiil be invited aud such students as are connected with the University publiuations. The Castalian, Palladium, and Res Gestae have combined and only one senior animal will be published thi year. The name of the new publication will be.'The Michiganensium" and i will be published by a board of twelve editora, four of whoin will be chosen from each of the former organizations At a meeting of the post gradúate law clas8 held Wednesday in the law building, the following offlcers were elected: President, Miss Octavia W Bates, of Detroit ; Vioe President, Robert M. Tt is hopod that the clnss may be able to procure the adoption of ie system in this Fniversity. The All Freshmen and tho High chools played an exciting game of foot all last Saturday. On account of the eather the crowd was smtill but it made up in enthusiasm vrhat it lacked n numbers. The teams were very venly matched and na score was made n either side. In the iirst half the all was constantly on the Freshmen 's erritory, while in the second half ttie der was reversed and the High chools were kepl busy defending their wn goal. In tbe last fifteen minutes f the game the High Schools gave a ne exhibition of defensivo play, holding the Freshmen for downs three times on the latter'a five yard line. - - .
