Denver, Col., Oct. 31.- Postofflr Inspector McMechene has been notlfled of the arrest of Assistant Postmaster D. J. M. A. Jewett of Fort Stanton, N. M., charged with the -embezzlment of $151. Jewett was chairman of the Louisiana returniog board of 1876 tfiat decided in favor of the Hayes ejeötors, defeating TMden for tha presidenfcy.
