Washington, Nov. 24. - Members o the seríate are coming to Washington each dáy and frem interviews with th arrivals it is apparent that the senators expeet little save routine legislation, including the passage of the annual appropriation bilis, at the short session of congress. Senators Cockj rell of Missouri and Hawley of Connecticut both gave expression to this opinión and both likewise agreed in the opinión that nothing need be expected at the coming session in the I way of helping along an international bimetallic conference. Senator Hawley did not believe the Dingley bill would be enacted into law, adding: "The Dingley bill is confessedly a mere makeshift, with all the defects incident to horizontal increase or decrease of duties. If . it should be passed as it is it seems to me it would be the duty of the president to assemble congress as soon as possible after the 4th of Maren for a diligent consideration and revisión of the whole tariff in a considérate and conservative spirit, to the eud that a bill might be passed that Tvould stand the test of years, subject, of course, to an occasional correction, where new inventions and changes in trade may demand it."
