The fcunAil report 01 Öie Interstate Commerce Commlssion covers the year ending Juno 30. 1895. At that time the total mileage of the railways of tb United States was a little more than 180,000 miles; and the increase during the yrsar was but a little overl per cent., the smallest since the organization of the commission. About 70 per cent of the aggregate amount of railway ptock paid no dividends during the year, and about 17 per cent of the tunded debt paid no interest. These uneually discouraging figures refleet Ülq Sfpressed business conditions whioli prevailed during; the year covered by the report. Passenger trafflc feil oLf, but freight trafile incroased.
