Body Placed On The Track

Oakland, Cal., Dec. 31. - Torn fragmente of the body of a man were found alcwg the Southern Pacific railroad tracks for a distance of 1,000 yards today. At flrst I was tfcought soms tramp had fallen trom a brake-beam and had been run over, but finally a, human face, that of a young man, was found near the track. It had been riddled with buckshot, and the supposition is that a murder has been committeó and that the body was placed on the track to hide the traces of the crime.
