Salein, Ore., Jan. 13.- The sixtuenta biennial session of tlie Oregon legislature lias convened. The aenate organized by tlie election of Joseph Simón of Portland as president and adjourned. The house made no organization, owing to the contest over the speakership, and the vote for United States senator wíl!, tfcerefore, be delayed ïmtil Jan. 26, as the statute provides thal the vote for senator cannot be taken until the second Tuesday after organization.
