The postponed game beiween the nines from the University faoulty on one side and the High School faculty and Board of Kdueution on the uther, was pulled oiï on the Athlotie liuld last Saturday. The college men werc the better prepared as they had been putting in lots of practico ever since last fall when thoy had been downed by their opponents. Henee when the challenge carne to the High School it found the latter entirely out of practice. However the gauntelt was picked up. The date of the game was rainy and it was postpoued until last 'Saturday. Then the redoubtables met. The team lined up as follows: 'Varsity - Worcester, 1 b. ; Hildner, s. s. ; Townley, c; Trueblood, 2 b. : Dixon, :i b. ; Lombard, 1. f.; Pattengill, c. f. ; Strauss, r. f. ; Patterson, p. High School- Jocelyn, p. ; Gammon, 1 b. ; Springer, c. ; Beal, s. s ; Hawkes, 2 b.; Miner, 3 h. ; Wines, c. f.; Jacobs, 1. f. ; Montgomery, r. f. When the game had reached a finish several changes had been made in the raake up of the two teams, due in some ca3es to some of the Profs. having sudden calis to return home and in other cases to exhaustion from overplaying. Each man seemed to be following the rules of the game that were in foi-ce at the timehe was a college boy. As a eonsequenoe rules running all the way from the 60's down to the present time were observed making each one a law unto himsclf. As a consequence intensely interesting confusión reigned all through the game. It would take several columns to mention all the funny incidente and brilliant plays (according to the rules of the boy houd days of the players) that were made l that day and even if so much spaco ' were taken one could not do justice to the occasion. Oue must have seen the great game tohave fully appreciated it. Only six innings were played. That was enouh to exhaust the physical strength of the playera and the laughiog ability of the audience. Whon the last inning waa ended the score stood as follows: Inning 1 2, 3 4 5 6 'Varsity 4 1 11 2 1 9-28 Hih richool 2 0 0 (i G 0-14
