In Morcoco the street hawker recommends his wares by pledgina the credit of a saint: "In the name of our Lord Hohammed Al Hadji! Popcorn! Popcorn!" "In the name of Sidna All-boKhalft! Meions! Nice, sweet meions!" "God is gritcioüï! Cool water!" These and the like are heard at every turn. Even the auctioneer who is calling out the price of a slave girl or the bids for a carpet is careful to interlard his professional talk with illusions to his Maker and tne plotijoric roll of Moorish salnts.
